ISC od 21 lat zajmuje się przyznawaniem prestiżowych nagród w branży alkoholowej, z podziałem na trzy kategorie: smak, opakowanie i marketing. Ponad 1300 próbek otrzymywanych z ponad 70 krajów zostaje poddane ocenie ponad pięćdziesięciu sędziów w panelach degustacyjnych, w których ocenianie poszczególnych próbek odbywa się na "ślepo".
Próbki są jedynie ponumerowane, sędziowie nie posiadają żadnej wiedzy na temat pochodzenia trunku.
Oceny przyznane przez poszczególnych sędziów są następnie sumowane przez przewodniczącego, a na ich podstawie przyznawane są medale Trophy, Gold, Silver i Bronze.
